BCA is responsible for the development and transformation of the built environment in Singapore. The main focus areas include safety, quality, inclusiveness, sustainability and productivity of the construction industry. It is committed to creating a livable and smart built environment for Singapore.
In 2018, BCA launched BuildSG, a national movement to transform the built environment. BuildSG is the main entity leading the implementation of the Construction Industry Transformation Map (ITM) in Singapore. It aims to achieve rapid transformation through the cooperation of relevant government agencies, society, industry, higher education and other parties. Rapid urbanization, climate change and digital revolution are the three important trends affecting the future direction of Singapore's construction industry. ITM pointed out that the three important areas of Singapore's construction industry transformation include: Design for Manufacture and Assemble- DfMA, Green Building and Integrated Digital Delivery - IDD. Among them, IDD is the critical measure for the transformation of the construction industry under digital revolution.

新加坡“智慧国度”计划下的建设局BCA
建设局BCA负责新加坡建成环境领域的发展和转型，主要监管领域包括建筑行业的安全、品质、包容性、可持续性和生产力，致力于打造新加坡宜居和智慧的建成环境。
BCA于2018年启动了建成环境领域转型的全国性运动BuildSG。BuildSG是新加坡建筑业转型蓝图ITM（Construction Industry Transformation Map）的实施主体，希望通过相关政府、社会、行业、高等教育等多方共同合作实现快速转型。快速城市化、气候变化和数字化变革，是影响新加坡建筑业未来走向的三大重要趋势。由此，ITM中指出新加坡建筑业转型的三个重要的领域包括：易于制造和组装的设计DfMA、绿色建筑和集成式数字化交付IDD。其中IDD是数字化变革趋势下的建筑业转型重要举措。
